.40 S&W Commercial Ammo Tests (Part 1)

In this first test, the speed of six types of .40 S&W cartridges from the manufacturer CBC were measured. The tests were carried out on the same day and time, with no changes in atmospheric conditions. Firearms with two different barrel lengths were used, the Taurus G2C 40 pistol (3.26" barrel) and the CTT40c carbine (8" barrel).

The following CBC .40 S&W ammunition models were tested:

 

“Expo”:  a 155 gr. jacketed hollow-point;

“Gold Hex”: a 155 gr. jacketed hollow-point with hexagonal design;

“Copper Bullet”: a 130 gr. copper alloy hollow-point;

“Chpp Treina”: a 160 gr. lead truncated cone;  

“Etpp”: a 180 gr. FMJ truncated cone;

“Etpp NTA”: a 180 gr. FMJ truncated cone (non-toxic materials).
